Lorraine Kelly brands Katya Jones a 'dafty' for kissing Seann Walsh as husband Neil says scandal was 'a shock'

Lorraine Kelly branded Katya Jones a “dafty” as she grilled the Strictly Come Dancing professional on the fallout from her kiss with dance partner Seann Walsh.

The dancer, who is married to fellow Strictly star Neil Jones, was photographed kissing Walsh, who was in a relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries, outside a London pub in October.

Kelly didn’t hold back as she quizzed Katya and her husband on the impact of the scandal on this morning’s episode of Lorraine.

“What were you thinking, you dafty? What was going on, was it just too much booze, what happened?” she asked.

Katya looked embarrassed at the question, answering: “Just silly me isn’t it.”

Describing the media storm that ensued as “really shocking,” she agreed when Kelly suggested that Strictly brings contestants “very close to someone very quickly,” telling the host: “Probably. I always say it’s like living a small life within your own life, you go through stages so quickly.”

The presenter then turned her questioning to Neil, suggesting that the headlines must have been “really embarrassing” for the dancer.

“It was a shock, for me it was a major shock and I appreciated of course that Katya told me, so I found out from Katya before I saw it in the news,” he said.

He went on to reveal that after the initial “shock,” he had been more concerned about his wife.

“It was that shock factor, and then for me, it was just straight away I was actually more worried about Katya because I was like, I can kind of see what was going to happen,” he told Kelly, adding that the Strictly team had been “fantastic” throughout.

“It was a natural reaction, we’ve been together for a long time,” he added.

Neil also revealed that he had been inundated with messages on social media urging him to split up with his wife in the wake of the scandal, before telling Kelly that the couple have fully “moved on” from the drama.

“We’re over it, everyone else is over it, let’s just move on,” he urged.

In a recent interview with Hello! magazine, Neil said that he chose to forgive his wife as he “can accept people make mistakes.”

“My mum always said, ‘People make mistakes in their lives. Don’t react, try to understand,’” he told the publication. “So that is how it always is for me.”
