Vigil concluded on Sunday night in a finale that divided viewers, with some calling the ending "flat".

Nonetheless, the series has been a massive success for BBC, attracting more than 10 million viewers over its first seven days - making it the most watched new drama of 2021 so far.

Fans have been calling for a second series, though it is unknown whether Jones would return for a follow-up.

As reported by The Mirro r, Ria asked Lorraine: “So, Vigil, are you watching this because this is epic?”

Lorraine then revealed: “Well, I’m behind.”

“This is one to binge-watch,” commented Ria, “this is currently the BBC’s most-watched drama of the year so far.”

Ria described the show for newcomers and also mentioned the scary cliffhanger from its penultimate episode.

Lorraine then said of Jones: “I do love her - Gentleman Jack remains my favourite thing in the world - but she’s really annoying me in that which is why I’ve not kept up with it but I definitely will.”
