Lorraine host slams Meghan Markle saying 'Royals don't guest edit magazines'

Entertainment host Dan Wootton has come under fire for criticising Meghan Markle after she was confirmed as a guest editor for Vogue magazine.

The Duchess of Sussex will be editing British Vogue's September issue, which will focus on influential women across fashion, film and tech.

These include climate change campaigner Greta Thunberg, activist and actor Jane Fonda and actress Yara Shahidi.

However, the host of ITV's Lorraine took issue with the appointment, reports Devon Live.

He told Christine on the show: "I feel like I need to bring a bit of reality to the situation.

"We are talking about Vogue magazine, probably one of the most elite, snobby fashion dominated magazine in the world."

Dan also went on to say that Meghan Markle shouldn't be editor because 'Royals don't guest edit magazines'.

However, his comments were then slammed online by viewers of the show.

One fan said: "That man having a go at the Duchess for being an editor for Vogue was one of the stupidest things I've seen for a long time.

"Leave Meghan alone, she can do what ever she wants and stick to reporting crap British soaps."

Another added: "Who cares if Meghan Markle wants to guest edit a magazine.

"She’s allowed to have personal interests and seize opportunities she’s given. Heaven forbid she actually ventures outside the royal family.
