Loris Karius makes Liverpool transfer statement as Jude Bellingham sends message to Jordan Henderson

Here is your Liverpool morning digest for Thursday, September 30.

Jude Bellingham sends Jordan Henderson message

Jude Bellingham received further demands to join Liverpool from Reds supporters after he posted a message to Jordan Henderson on social media.

Jurgen Klopp’s side enjoyed a comfortable 5-1 win against Porto at the Estadio do Dragao on Tuesday night, putting Liverpool top of their Champions League group.

Bellingham had also been in action for Borussia Dortmund against Sporting Lisbon. The 18-year-old provided the assist for Donyell Malen to score the game’s only goal, putting the German side level with Ajax on six points

Henderson captained the Reds on his landmark 400th appearance for the Reds and Bellingham took the time to praise his England team-mate.

Writing “congrats mate” underneath the Liverpool skipper’s post, this is the latest example of the respect that has formed between the pair while on international duty.

With reports having suggested that Bellingham could be an £80m target for Liverpool , Henderson admitted earlier this month that he had been hugely impressed by the Dortmund man.

"Even at such a young age he shows fantastic maturity on and off the field. You can see how hungry he is to be a top player and has all the attributes to do that,” the 31-year-old said , after Bellingham had made his first Wembley start for England.

“I don't want to praise him too much and put too much pressure on him but he has a very good head on his shoulders, I'm told he has good people around him and a good family, and you can see that is an important part of him. I think he will be a top player going forward."

Loris Karius makes Liverpool transfer declaration

Loris Karius will look to secure a transfer during the January window as he attempts to end his Liverpool nightmare.

Karius hasn't featured for the Reds first team since his harrowing experience in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev in May 2018.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper subsequently had spells on loan at Besiktas and Union Berlin but was unable to secure a deal away from Anfield during the summer transfer window.

Karius, who is out of contract at the end of the season, was close to joining Basel only for the deal to collapse over personal terms, while a number of Bundesliga clubs are also believed to have expressed an interest.

Recent reports have suggested Basel will try again to sign the keeper when the window opens in the New Year.

And Karius - sidelined since mid-August with a shoulder injury - is keen to find a club where he will once again play regular first-team football.
