Lorenzo Insigne has already dropped hint on Napoli exit amid Tottenham transfer offer rumours

Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne has already dropped a hint that he could question his Napoli future amid links with Spurs.

The Italian wideman was linked to Tottenham earlier this summer with the 30-year-old’s contract at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona set to expire in 2022. Meanwhile, Lazio have also been rumoured to be considering a move.

The Napoli captain has even received an offer to join the north London club according to Italian journalist Paolo Paganini, with suggestions of a move to Rome also being refuted.

Talking in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss, he said: “The most important offers [for Insigne] have come from abroad, especially from Tottenham. After the Euros, Lorenzo has many new admirers.”

Meanwhile, Insigne himself dropped a hint before the summer that he could consider his future with his current employers after Euro 2020.

Speaking in June, he said: “My future? I am only thinking of playing the European Championship, after that there is time to talk to the club.

“Lazio rumors? It came out that Immobile was the manager here to bring me but that’s not true. He didn’t tell me anything. We are friends, we will go on vacation together and we haven’t talked about this.“

With the Euros now concluded, it seems that talks over Insigne’s future are imminent. It therefore remains to be seen whether he could potentially leave the club in the near future and indeed join Spurs.

Meanwhile, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already suggested that the club could be forced to wave goodbye to the forward should he elect to leave.

Talking last week, he said: “Insigne is a product of the academy and future depends on him. If he is tired of Napoli and wants to go around Europe, it’s his choice, not ours.”
