Lorenz Larkin drops back down to welterweight for Bellator 283, fights Mukhamed Berkhamov

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Lorenz Larkin is headed back down.

After a couple of bouts at middleweight, Larkin (24-7 MMA, 6-2 BMMA) returns to welterweight July 22 to battle Mukhamed Berkhamov (14-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) at Bellator 283, a promotion official Friday informed MMA Junkie.

The card takes place at Emerald Queen Hotel & Casino in Tacoma, Wash. and airs on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie.

Larkin, 35, enters Bellator 283 on a six-fight winning streak despite being intermittently active during his promotional tenure. He most recently defeated Kyle Stewart by first-round TKO at Bellator 280 in May.

Berkhamov, 28, has won 12 straight fights. He won his Bellator debut in January against Jaleel Willis by submission.

With the addition, the Bellator 283 lineup includes:

  • Champion Patricky Freire vs. Sidney Outlaw
  • Jason Jackson vs. Douglas Lima
  • Chris Gonzalez vs. Usman Nurmagomedov
  • Mukhamed Berkahmov vs. Lorenz Larkin
  • Tofiq Musayev vs. Adam Piccolotti
  • Romero Cotton vs. Dalton Rosta
  • Bobby King vs. Gadzhi Rabadanov
