If you ever needed more proof that you should hit the club on a school night, boy, do I have the story for you. Lorde popped up at a Sydney nightclub event during a night dedicated to her, dancing the night away surrounded by fans.
On Sunday, Mary’s Underground hosted a Lorde-themed night in celebration of her upcoming album, Virgin.
“We’re officially in the L4 era, so it’s only right we throw a party for our true Lorde and saviour!” the establishment wrote on Instagram.
“Come dance (or cry) in the club as DJ @xeimma plays all the eras, alongside alt-pop bangers, drag shows, and themed drinks!”
While the house was packed, I don’t think any of the Lorde fans in the room actually thought the “What Was That” singer would show up.

In what must have felt like a fever dream, the iconic Kiwi pop star walked through those doors and quickly found herself at the centre of attention as fans went absolutely bananas, with iPhone cameras on her at every turn.
Lorde spent the evening having a boogie with fans, taking pics, and even getting behind the DJ decks.
Iconic behaviour, honestly.
You can check out some footage from the lucky bunch who were at the event below.
I can feel the jealousy seeping out of my goddamn pores.
That’s what I get for trying to get a good night’s sleep on a Sunday night before work today.
Lesson learnt, my friends, lesson learnt.
