Lorde cheekily teases first new music in four years with swimsuit picture

After four years away from releasing music, Lorde has teased fans with a very cheeky image for her new single.

The 24-year-old singer from New Zealand is notoriously private and his kept herself largely away from the limelight since Homemade Dynamite was released in June 2017 from her Melodrama album.

But now she's donned a slinky thong swimsuit and yellow top to give her fans a glimpse of her new single called Solar Power.

The Royals singer, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, can be seen flashing her bum and long legs as the camera points towards the bright blue sky.

And she noted on her official website that it's "arriving in 2021". She also told her fans that "patience is a virtue".

The website has nothing else for excited fans to cling to except a sign up button.

While the singer hasn't used her own social media channels for a long time, fans still flocked to the platforms to share their excitement at the announcement.

One fan wrote: "World feels right again now that Lorde is officially back."

Another penned in all capitals: "NEW MUSIC FROM LORDE SOON!!!!!!! NOBODY SPEAK TO ME WHEN ITS OUT I WILL BE FULLY BOOKED."

And a third put: "Pls tell me this is real Bc I’ve been wanting new lorde music so bad."

The singer has previously released two albums - Pure Heroine in 2013 and Melodrama in 2017.

The private star was last seen on social media in April when she made a surprise appearance on New Zealand food writer Albert Cho's account.

Lorde has kept her life private since last releasing music in 2017 (X90045)

She smiled at the camera and "cheersed" her martini glass while wearing a button up top.

Her own Instagram now only shows three images after a clear out in May 2018.

The three remaining snaps include a picture of the words Trust Me from December 2016, an shot of a crowd wearing 3D glasses from January 2017 and an image from a concert posted in April 2018.
