Lord Mayor of Dublin attends commemorative mass honouring firefighters who have died

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alison Gilliland attended a special mass yesterday to remember Dublin firefighters that have died.

The commemorative mass takes place every November in Saint Saviour's Church on Dominic Street.

She tweeted: "It was an honour to attend the mass to remember deceased members of @DubFireBrigade this afternoon.

"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.

Dublin Fire Brigade made a special mention to the members that died during the past year.

They tweeted: "Today a special mass was held in Saint Saviour's Church on Dominic Street to remember deceased colleagues from DFB and the Former Dun Laoghaire Fire Brigade.

"This mass takes place each November. A special mention is made to those who have left us in the past year."

Dolphins Barn fire station was also lit up yesterday evening for World Day of Remembrance, to remember those that have been killed or injured on Irish roads.
