Loose Women viewers baffled by Stacey Solomon's return as guest host

Loose Women viewers were baffled when it was announced that Stacey Solomon was the guest host on today's show.

The panellists on the popular ITV show staged a baby shower to celebrate the former X Factor star going on five-month maternity leave just two weeks ago.

But she has since appeared on the panel earlier this week and made another return today as the surprise guest host.

Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson and Jane Moore joined the 2010 I'm a Celebrity... winner to chat about topics that had the "Stacey seal of approval" including a debate on childhood obesity and clutter in the house.

It was Stacey's first ever time hosting the show but fans took to social media confused by her appearance.

One user said: "I thought Stacey was on maternity leave."

The Loose Women Instagram account explained the episode was pre-recorded - but fans said they were still baffled as the news was announced during a conversation with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on the live broadcast of This Morning.

A fan questioned: "I don't know why they pretend to make it like it's live. Expect the Stacey is on maternity leave tweets soon."

A second added: "Confused regardless of pre-recorded, thought Stacey said goodbye last week as she's going on maternity leave and seen her twice already this week"

A third said: "Why are they pretending #loosewomen is live and talking to #thismorning - Stacey is posting she is at a photoshoot today on her Insta!"

The 31-year-old pregnant star confirmed on her Instagram stories last night that she was going to view her new fashion collection today.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITVHub
