Loose Women to return for one-off special as part of ITV coronavirus NHS day

Loose Women fans will be over the moon at the news the show will return tomorrow for a one-off special recorded in the panelists' homes.

The episode will be part of a day of dedicated programming on ITV to celebrate and thank NHS frontline workers for their services in the fight against Covid-19.

Christine Lampard, Brenda Edwards, Stacey Solomon and Nadia Sawalha will appear in the programme, which was filmed today.

Emma Gormley, managing director of ITV daytime, said: "Like everyone else in the country we want to say a massive thank you to our NHS heroes.

"We look forward to a day of extra special programmes in celebration and gratitude for our amazing NHS staff and all they continue to do for us."

Themed c ontent related to the work being done by health and social care professionals amid the coronavirus pandemic will feature on ITV throughout the day.

The stories of survivors and their families will be featured across the ITV NHS Day schedule, which kicks off at 6am on Good Morning Britain.

A “pause for applause” will also take place at 8pm as part of the Clap for Carers campaign.

Viewers will be encouraged to make a donation to the NHS Charities Together Million Claps Appeal, alongside a personalised message to health care workers in their area.

Clare Phillips, director of social purpose at ITV, added: "This appeal is a vital way of helping people who work for the NHS when they need it the most.

"We're delighted to partner with NHS Charities Together and put ITV's full weight behind a campaign that will give back to the heroic NHS staff in this difficult time."

Loose Women was cancelled shortly after live audiences were banned amid the health crisis.

This Morning will be presented by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford ahead of the popular panel show’s return at 12.30pm.
