Loose Women Star Admits She 'Turned Nasty' After Her Husband REJECTED Her Request

Nadia Sawalha has opened up about a fiery argument with her husband, Mark Adderley, that spiralled after she brought up the idea of him getting a vasectomy — and it all kicked off from there. Speaking on Loose Women: The Podcast, the 60-year-old telly star admitted things “turned nasty” between them when she suggested Mark get the snip.

The couple, who share two daughters, Kiki, 17, and Maddie, 21, were having one of those serious chats about possibly having more kids. Nadia confessed she’d wanted another baby pretty much as soon as Kiki was born, but Mark wasn’t on the same page at all — and for good reason, it turns out, reported Devon Live.

“He was traumatised after the birth,” she explained on the podcast, giving some insight into why he was hesitant. Despite using a coil herself, Nadia said she once asked him to consider a vasectomy, and didn’t take it well when he flat-out refused.

“It turned very nasty, from me,” she admitted. “He didn’t want to have one, and I was so enraged. His mum’s a rabid feminist who went on marches and everything, so I couldn’t believe he was saying no.”

Nadia didn’t hold back, saying she was stunned at the idea that men might fear impotence over something so minor. “You know what it is? They’re all worried they’re going to be impotent — and you’re not, boys, you’re not.”

Frankie Bridge, who joined the conversation, chimed in with her own take, saying she thinks men “have it easy” when it comes to birth control, and that vasectomies seem to trigger some kind of “mental switch” for them.

That struck a nerve with Nadia, who pointed out how much responsibility women bear from the moment they hit puberty. “We’re constantly worrying about pregnancy, periods, all of it. I’ve just asked him to have a teeny weeny little crusher and he said no.”

The conversation then turned to Frankie’s husband, former footballer Wayne Bridge. When Nadia asked if she’d ever talked to Wayne about a vasectomy, Frankie was surprisingly honest: “No I haven’t… I don’t want him to have one. You just never know what’s going to happen.”

She explained that the finality of it feels a bit much. “We might not end up together, something might happen to me, and he might want another baby. Men can just keep going.”

Nadia, meanwhile, revealed she’s aching for another baby — not because she’s planning one, but because she feels time ticking. “I’m heading into grandmother territory,” she said. “I’d be the happiest grandmother, but I had my kids late, so I worry I won’t be here for it. Maybe that’s why I still feel like I want another.”
