Loose Women star admits she's 'not good at hiding emotions' after Holly and Phil's NTAs win

Loose Women returned to our screens on Friday [October 14], after missing out on an award at the National Television Awards the night before.

Former Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Kaye Adams headed up the panel on the ITV's programme's final show of the week, as she discussed all the backstage gossip from the star-studded showbiz event with her fellow panelists Judi Love, Linda Robson and Dame Kelly Holmes.

The ITV's show latest broadcast came just hours on from panelist Linda seemingly refusing to clap Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during their win at the National Television Awards, as This Morning beat Loose Women to take home the gong for Best Daytime TV Show for the fifth year in a row.

Holly and Phil appeared to receive a frosty reception from the audience at the event when they were named the award winners, with Loose Women gang seemingly amongst those not delighted with their win - with reports there were even jeers from the crowd amid the on-going fallout from Queue-gate, which saw Holly and Phil criticised for seemingly jumping the line to see the Queen lying in state.

Kicking off Friday's edition of Loose Women, Kaye started things off saying: "It's the morning after the night before, we did have a great time."

"Congratulations to This Morning and thank you to everyone who voted for us," the Scottish star continued as she and her co-stars - including Linda - clapped.

After Birds of a Feather actress Linda revealed they all "really had fun" and shared how delighted she was to get her makeup done and get glammed up, Kaye admitted she was watching Dame Kelly's face as it was announced This Morning had beaten Loose Women once again at the National Television Awards.

"I'm not very good at hiding my emotions," the retired athlete admitted, after Kaye explained the competitive star is used to winning awards and honours.

"Nothing against This Morning at all but we were really revved up," Dame Kelly continued, before adding: "It was such a great time."

The This Morning presenters Holly and Phil received a mixed reaction as NTA for Best Daytime Show for the fifth year in a row on Thursday night [October 13], but Holly apparently left the star-studded ceremony early after their win - reportedly sneaking out and heading home around 10pm.

While Holly got an early night, plenty of other celebrities partied hard - including her co-host Phil, who was all smiles as he left the event without his pal.

As Phil enjoyed the after-parties with no Holly by his side, he took to social media to share a touching message for his absent co-host - sharing a sweet snap of himself and Holly embracing as they collected their latest award.

"I love you Holly Willoughby and our entire @thismorning family," Phil wrote in the post shared with his Instagram fans.

"Thank YOU for every single vote 'cos we love you most x."

Shortly before Phil's sweet message, Holly took to Instagram at around midnight to write: "Thank you… holy moly… we love you… @thismorning … you are the best team, you work so hard to make the show what it is… We want to thank each and every one of you for voting… you have made this night an absolute dream… thank you also @officialntas for having us… @joeldommett you are a class act."

*Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV and ITVHub
