Loose Women's Stacey Solomon left offended seconds into her return over 'insensitive' topic

Stacey Solomon looked offended moments into her return to Loose Women, when a discussion topic did not land well with the popular panellist.

Having taken some time off after the birth of daughter Rose Opal Esmè, Stacey made her long awaited comeback to the ITV panel on Friday, joining anchor Kaye and co-stars Nadia Sawlaha and Katie Piper as they prepared to chat to guests including Tom Parker's widow Kelsey.

Kaye sat closest to Stacey on the Loose Women panel and greeting her warmly, asked: "How long is it since I've seen you?" Stacey replied: "I feel like I haven't seen you for ages. I almost forgot how to walk out!"

Kaye then moved onto the first topic of the day, telling Stacey: "Well you're going to like our first little topic today, because, apparently women put on...." Hesitating and realising Stacey was offended, Kaye told her: "Oh god. I've made a mistake already," as Stacey replied: "Right, I see where this is going though!"

Kaye pleaded: "Wait until I get to the punchline OK before you judge me, because, apparently women put on more lockdown pounds than men, as Stacey fired back: "I was pregnant Kaye!" Trying to get back on her co-star's good side, Kaye continued: "But that's because experts say they were more likely to bear the brunt of childcare and therefore they were stuck indoors looking after the family. So that's why I was thinking of you Stacey."

She quizzed: "How many children have you got now Stacey?" to which the former X Factor star and I'm A Celebrity winner responded: "I've got a brood! Oh we're like the Von Trapps Kaye; that's why I can't come in as often!"
