Loose Women's Stacey Solomon denies quitting ITV show after year-long absence from panel

Stacey Solomon has denied reports she has stepped away from Loose Women, despite not appearing regularly on the ITV daytime show for almost a year.

Her most recent appearance on the show came in December 2024 during ITV’s 25-hour Talkathon for Britain Get Talking, while her last panel appearance was on June 3, 2024.

Her absence prompted speculation she had left the programme to focus on other projects, including her new haircare business Rehab.

Insiders claimed Solomon had quietly departed from the panel after the show stopped approaching her to appear.

A TV insider told the Daily Mail: “The team at Loose Women did everything possible last year to have Stacey on the panel, the viewers love her and there's always a boost to the ratings when she's on.

“But it's clear Stacey has quit Loose Women, she hasn't been on the panel all year, there are no plans for her to appear, she most certainly hasn't been booked and the show stopped reaching out months ago.”

Her representative, however, dismissed the claims, telling The Sun that Solomon remains a “proud Loose Women panellist.”

The Standard has contacted Stacey Solomon’s rep for comment.

Solomon first appeared on the show in 2011 and became a regular contributor in 2016.

Over the years she has made more than 350 appearances, balancing the role with her wider television career and personal projects.

The former X Factor finalist has recently turned her attention to launching her own haircare brand, while continuing to front other popular TV projects, including BBC One’s Sort Your Life Out.

For now, despite her absence, Solomon is still officially part of the Loose Women line-up, though her long-term future with the panel remains unclear amid the daytime cuts at the broadcaster.

The studios announced in May that they are slashing the budgets of daytime shows like GMB, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, meaning more than 220 of the 440 staff involved will lose their jobs.

GMB will be extended by half an hour from January, while Lorraine Kelly’s morning talk show will be reduced to 30 minutes for 30 weeks of the year, ITV said earlier this month.

As part of ITV’s restructuring, This Morning, hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shepard, will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays through the year.

Panel show Loose Women will air from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

All three shows will be broadcast from a new location in central London while still being produced by ITV Studios.
