Saira Khan says taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins left her with life-changing injuries.
The former Loose Women presenter says she fell into 'shock' when she was badly hurt during filming for the new series of the show.
The presenter claims she still bears 'life-long scars physical scars' from the incident - details of which have not been revealed by show bosses.
Saira told The Sun : "I was left with life-long scars, physical ones. That's very hard to cope with.
"I am a very fit individual and to go onto a show and then have experienced what I did, I was in real shock.
She added "the show was great in supporting" her.
Saira starred on the show, which was filmed on the remote island of Raasay in the Inner Hebrides in Scotland, with a host of other celebs including Kerry Katona, Ulrika Johnson and Wes Nelson.
She quit Loose Women after five years when she returned from filming - and she said she did so because appearing on Celebrity SAS 'changed her life'.
"I did take big drastic steps", she said - adding: "Going to that level of extremity really made me realise I've got to stop. I don't need to keep proving myself, but just enjoy what I've got and celebrate what I've achieved.
Minnow Films, the production company in charge of filming Celebrity SAS has been contacted by the Mirror about Saira's comments.
During the first episode of the show, Kerry Katona was frozen with fear as she tried to cross a ravine on a couple of precarious poles during a terrifying exercise.
The former pop star is hoping to change people’s perceptions of her by bravely taking on the tough challenges set by chief instructor Ant Middleton and his team.
But she was furious with herself, dubbing the effort “pathetic” and weeping about being unable to complete the taxing task.
Sitting with the instructors, she cried as she reflected on “being stuck in the past”, telling them how she has struggled to get over her mum’s suicide attempt, being given drugs at 14 and her abusive ex-husband George Kay’s death.
Katona, 40, is a regular on reality TV but viewers saw her in a different light as she let down her guard to battle her demons without a smokescreen of banter or cheekiness.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins airs on Channel 4, Sunday at 9pm.
