Loose Women's Ruth Langsford makes 'childish' admission as she mentions Eamonn Holmes on air

Loose Women's Ruth Langsford made a childish admission on today's show.

The 63-year-old fronted Tuesday's edition of the popular ITV programme. She anchored discussions with panelists Linda Robson, Janet Street Porter and Linda Robson.

The episode started on the topic of tanning after Linda's fake tan disaster yesterday Janet has recently returned from holiday and Ruth explained she expected her to come back with a sunny glow.

However, Janet was disappointed when she revealed her holiday had been spoilt by bad weather. She said: "I got off the plane to clouds. The next day hailstones."

Ruth admitted she gets "sulky" on holiday if she is hit with a similar problem. The broadcaster is marred to fellow presenter, Eamonn Holmes, who she said tries to get her to look at the positives. She said: "Eamonn says it's alright, we can just stay in and read. And I say I didn't come here to read. I get really really childish."

Ruth mentioned her husband as he continues to call out ITV and Phillip Schofield amid the ongoing drama surrounding This Morning. Mr Schofield quit ITV's flagship daytime programme last week after he admitted having an affair with a running while working on This Morning.

He responded to his critics with a statement on Instagram yesterday as he said: "Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it's the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

"This Morning is the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity. You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it is a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people."

The Northern Irish broadcaster continued the spat as he took to Twitter to issue a response. He said: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs. I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if you are looking for a fight, you have picked on the wrong person!!"
