Loose Women's Ruth Langsford calls out Eamonn Holmes on Gogglebox 'lie'

Ruth Langsford has exposed a 'lie' from husband Eamonn Holmes over their stint on Celebrity Gogglebox.

The couple and presenting double act on This Morning appeared as cast members on the Gogglebox spin-off last year and Eamonn joined his other half as she took the reins for Wednesday's Loose Women.

The former GMTV anchor sat next to Ruth for a special episode of the ITV lunchtime talk show which also saw her co-star Stacey Solomon joined by her fiance Joe Swash.

The show started with the couples talking about who had the biggest say in what went on around the house with the discussion captioned 'Can home renovations ruin your relationship?'

Looking at former EastEnders actor and I'm A Celebrity and Dancing on Ice champion Joe, Ruth said: "You say sometimes 'you know what it's easier just to let Stacey do her thing' and people say 'ooh I wish I had a man like that.'

"Because Eamonn isn't like that. He's got very clear ideas haven't you about what you want with colours etc and we don't always agree," to which Eamonn quipped: "we never agree darling!"

As she explained they have to learn to compromise, Ruth continued: "But then when you decide you don't like something, which we've chosen together, he'll just tell everybody 'well I don't get a say in that. I didn't chose that, it's awful."

And it was then that Ruth called Eamonn out over his Gogglebox lie when she explained: "Including our purple sofa. If you watch Gogglebox and you saw us on our purple sofa.

"We, I promise you, I will stand in a court of law and swear on a bible that we chose that sofa together.

"I can take you to the shop and the man who sold it to us and then Eamonn slowly went off it and told everyone who'd listen - 'she chose that. I didn't want purple.'

While Ruth enjoyed getting one over on husband Eamonn, viewers loved seeing the two of them together, with one tweeting: "Loving today's episode. So nice to have Eamonn and Ruth together. A great panel and each one letting the other have their say. More please!"

Echoing those sentiments, another posted: "Eamonn & Ruth on #LooseWomen! Yes!!"
