Loose Women's Ruth Langsford awkwardly gets cut off by Phillip Schofield

Things got a little bit awkward on This Morning today and the reaction hasn't gone unnoticed by eagle eyed viewers.

Phillip Schofied may want to avoid fellow ITV star Ruth Langsford around the studios for the rest of the day as he awkwardly cut her off during a live link.

On Wednesday's edition of the daytime show, This Morning cut to the Loose Women studio in its usual style so that Ruth could let fans know what was coming up on today's programme.

But before she even go to the end of her link, Phil was interrupting her and poor Ruth didn't have a clue what was going on.

The 57-year-old presenter cut in: "Guys, we are going to have to jump in there and stop you I'm afraid, we're a bit tight for time at this end, but thank you..."

You could then hear Ruth snap back "Well, I only had about four words to say..."

Clearly ignoring what was going on, Phil continued: "So, thank you and we will catch you guys later."

And it seems fans of the programme were on his This Morning pal's side and found her reaction hilarious.

One said: "Ohhh bit rude Ruth it's not @Schofe fault #ThisMorning."

"I love a p****d off Ruth for getting cut off #ThisMorning," commented another.

A third commented: "Haha Ruth Langford cutting the one and only @Schofe off and slamming her pen down".

A final comment read: "Ruth seething right now. I heard that backchat.... #ThisMorning."

We're sure it's just all in the name of live telly.
