Loose Women's Linda Robson says if she was Matt Hancock’s wife she would divorce him

Loose Women star Linda Robson claimed if she was the wife of Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who is accused of having an affair, she would divorce him.

Matt Hancock, 42, has been pictured in a steamy clinch with 43-year-old adviser Gina Coladangelo at the Department of Health's London HQ.

Host Kaye Adams began by asking panelist Jane Moore if she thought the public had a right to know about the claims.

Jane replied: "In this particular case regarding these allegations, yes, we are in unprecedented times and at the moment he has probably got the most important cabinet job.

"So much of that is based on public trust and confidence, that is the asset of your job and it's very easily thrown away.

"In the cabinet or in public there are the Nolan Principles, and the integral one is is integrity, they must declare and resolve any interests and relationships pertaining to things int he workplace.

"So if what we are seeing in the photograph is what it seems, there is a strong argument he has breached the ministerial code, which could be problematic."

Linda said: "The first thing I thought of when I saw the photo was his wife and kids.

"We have been in lockdown for such a long time, he is the one giving us these rules, and we are not allowed to cuddle our grandchildren."

She continued: "When I saw the picture before I knew who it was, I thought, 'Isn't it lovely, being kissed like that?' I have been married 33 years, I am lucky if I get a peck on the cheek.

"And then I realised who it was and that he was married, and if that was me and that was my husband, I would be devastated, I would be reaching for the phone to see a solicitor, I would want an explanation.

"But what explanation can you give for a photo like that?"

"The country deserves an explanation, we need more than that statement, as a senior politician," agreed Kaye.

"I feel so gutted for the family."

Hancock said in a statement: “I accept that I breached the social distancing guidance in these circumstances.

"I have let people down and am very sorry.

"I remain focused on working to get the country out of this pandemic, and would be grateful for privacy for my family on this personal matter.”

Jane added: "This has handed his political enemies a major weapon, he is the most significant cabinet minister and every press conference he will be asked about this, this has damaged him.
