Loose Women's Linda Robson 'absolutely traumatised' by Netflix series Squid Game

Loose Women panelist Linda Robson has admitted that hit Netflix series Squid Game left her 'absolutely traumatised' after she tuned into an episode.

The 63-year-old was asked by ITV producers to watch it on Tuesday evening, so that she discuss it with the rest of the Loose Women panel on Wednesday's show.

However, the mum-of-three was not impressed at all and described it as 'really violent'.

Speaking to Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, and Janet Street Porter, Linda said: "I was absolutely traumatised watching it last night.

"I put the first episode on and I kept having to look away because it was so violent so if children are watching that, God help them honestly, they won't be able to sleep at night coz I couldn't sleep last night because it was really violent."

Linda went on to say that she thinks Squid Game should have a rating of 40+ and said: "There was so much blood as well in it, it was really, really traumatising honestly."

Janet added: "I agree with Linda, it was just gratuitous violence, I just felt like the whole thing was unpleasant, absolutely unpleasant. And the first image of that being getting killed will stick with me, and it's creepy because it's based on childhood games."

Christine Lampard said that she's only watched two episodes of Squid Game (ITV)

Christine admitted that she's only watched two episodes, and said she thinks it's "all about desperation".

It was recently announced that Squid Game is now Netflix's most watched show after overtaking period drama Bridgerton.

Squid Game focuses on debt-ridden contestants who have volunteered to compete in six playground games - but if they lose, they die.

The first episode of the nine-part series sees the contestants play Grandma’s Footsteps, but viewers were stunned to see the bodies pile high as the traumatised winning contestants progressed to round two.

Described as a horrifying version of Takeshi’s Castle, some viewers were left confused as to whether the dystopian show, which sheds light on staggering wealth inequalities, was in fact real.

Masked assassins patrol the arenas where the games take place, shooting contestants who fail.

Graphic scenes of murder, and even organ harvesting, have turned some viewers off, but others have persevere with the gruesome scenes because the show is so good.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
