Loose Women's Judi Love unexpectedly absent from ITV show after heartbreaking death of her dad

Loose Women star Judi Love was unexpectedly absent from Thursday's show after the death of her dad.

Comedian Judi, a real favourite with viewers since joining the ITV programme, was due to be on the panel as Kaye Adams hosted on Thursday lunchtime but at the start of the episode, Kaye broke news of Judi's absence after her father's passing.

Kaye told viewers at home: "We all want to send our very, very best wishes to our friend Judi Love.

"Judi was supposed to be with us today but she's taken the day of because of the sad news that her dad Albert has passed away."

Judi revealed her father had died in an Instagram post, where, next to a picture of her with him, she wrote: "I feel empty and heartbroken for many reasons' RIP Dad.

These last few weeks I tried to make you comfortable, I tried to get to you dad, I really did. Rest Well"

Judi's celebrity friends were quick to show their support, with her Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford commenting: " So sorry Judi...condolences to you and your family. Sending you the biggest hug," singer and former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson posting: " Sending so much love Judi!!!"

Olympic champion turned commentator Denise Lewis wrote: "So sorry for your loss," and the Loose Women panel from Thursday's show, including Denise Welch, also sent their love.

After Kaye read out Judi's Instagram post, Nadia Sawalha said she'd spoken to Judi on Wednesday and said: "her father was obviously out in Jamaica, like for so many people over the past year...not being able to come together.

"So we send you a big, big hug Judi, we love you."

Kaye added: "We absolutely do."
