Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter says she cheated because she 'looked good'

Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter shed light on her past relationship decisions.

The topic of conversation was based on trust and if it could ever be rebuilt after an affair. The panel agreed almost unanimously that it would forever dent a relationship but it doesn't always mean closing the door for good.

Janet Street-Porter spearheaded the conversation but was teased by her co-stars for her rocky relationship history. New addition Kelly Holmes felt left in the dark as she asked what all the jokes were based on.

Janet admitted it was no secret she's been through "four marriages, many affairs and toyboys." Kelly asked why she threw it all away by cheating which prompted an explanation from the presenter.

She said: "I was successful, looked good and had decent money." Ruth Langsford asked whether or not any of her ex-partners forgive her for cheating but Janet revealed she never asked for forgiveness.

She added: "I said to [my partners] 'I've behaved appallingly and I think it would be better for both of us if we got divorced'. And in fact, we divorced and stayed friends.

"I think it's down to trust. I'm talking about sex with someone and having an affair and if you're in that frame of mind, do it and go back to your husband to carry on as normal and they find out, it's how they deal with it.
