Loose Women's Frankie Bridge felt 'proud' when boys called her 'frigid' as a teen

Frankie Bridge has admitted that her peers would call her 'frigid' at school as she wasn't sexually active.

The mother-of-two joined Kaye Adams, Jane Moore, and Judi Love on the Loose Women panel on Thursday as they discussed their worries about teens being pressured into having sex.

When Kaye asked Frankie how she feels with her boys, whom she shares with husband Wayne, Frankie said it is a concern.

"I mean they’re so young and I try not to think about it really but it's definitely a conversation and conversations that we're gonna have to continue to have, " Frankie said.

"And it scares me how young that that’s possibly going to end up needing to be. And I think girls are feeling pressured, but I do think boys feel pressurised to be 'laddy' about everything.

"If they’re not ready to have sex or if they're not looking at girls in that way yet, there's this way that guys sometimes talk to each other, it's like maybe they don't all want to talk that way and it's a knock on effect and I suppose it's the same way with girls," she continued.

"If other girls are saying, 'oh I've done this', and they're getting teased or whatever about not having done that, it's horrible, it's not really something that I experienced when I was younger."

"You didn't, no?" Kaye then asked, to which Frankie replied: "No, I did used to get called frigid when I was younger."

"I hate that word! It's kind of been weaponised as the ultimate insult to young girls," Kaye interjected, as Frankie continued: "Yeah it was.

"It was like, 'oh look at her, yeah she’s frigid, don’t bother with her', but I was strong enough in my decisions to feel comfortable with that, I didn’t care. I was actually quite proud that people called me that because I was like, 'well that's fine, I don't want to do any of those things'."

"That's the key, that's self-esteem," Jane then said, as Frankie asked: "Whereas not everyone has that and not every families are able to have those conversations either, so how do we fix it? I don't know."
