Loose Women's Denise Welch in tears after Charlene White's emotional words

Loose Women's Denise Welch became upset after co-star Charlene White discussed yesterday's inauguration.

Joe Biden declared that "democracy has prevailed" after he was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.

More history was made at his side, as Kamala Harris became the first woman to be vice president.

The former US senator from California is also the first black person and the first person of South Asian descent elected to the vice presidency and will become the highest-ranking woman ever to serve in government.

Speaking about her favourite moments from the inauguration, Charlene's powerful and emotional words about Ms Harris brought Denise to tears.

Charlene said: "I was emotional and I can talk about it from a black woman's perspective.

"But when you think about all those stories regarding black women being erased from history, their opinions often ignored, their experiences day to day - this is a woman who you will not be able to ignore."

"For the next four years you can't pretend she's not there, you can't pretend her impact isn't huge, you cannot do that to Kamala."

The cameras then switched to Denise who was brushing away her tears.

Charlene said: "Denise, I can see you getting upset with that. I think for me, I was upset watching yesterday and it was joyful."
