Loose Women's Denise Welch hits back at ex-husband Tim Healy over 'dig' about daytime TV

Loose Women star Denise Welch has hit back at her ex-husband Tim Healy for making an apparent dig about daytime TV.

Her former hubby has since apologised for his comments in a jokey exchange on social media.

Popular panellist and former Coronation Street star Denise has been a regular on daytime chat show Loose Women, on and off, since 2005.

The panel show has returned to our screens after originally being forced off the air in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

But her ex-husband Tim, who Denise had sons Matt and Louis with before their split in 2012, doesn't appear to be tuning in to watch her in action, reports Chronicle Live.

On Monday, he tweeted a video of himself watching a bee in his garden and captioned it: "This is better than day time telly, could watch them all day."

It didn't take long for Denise to pick up on the tweet and she retaliated with a fiery response - particularly after her new husband Lincoln Townley liked Tim's comment.

The former Waterloo Road actress posted: "Erm!! Excuse me ex husband who wrote this and husband @LincolnTownley who liked it......I’m actually ON daytime telly!!! Just saying."

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Benidorm star Tim ended up apologising for his original tweet, writing: "Sorry pet, I meant apart from Slack Lasses."

Slack Lasses is the name of the Loose Women-inspired sketch that Denise and other Geordie actresses always take part in for Sunday for Sammy.

Referencing that, one of Tim's followers reacted and said: "That brings me back to a great afternoon / evening. Cannot wait till Sunday for Sammy is out to relive it. Was in stitches from the start".

Another joked: "tim can you please call me pet? it’s all i need in life."
