Loose Women's Denise Welch exposes her and ex Tim Healy's 'secret' Neighbours past

Denise Welch made an unexpected revelation about her past on Tuesday's Loose Women, as she exposed a link she and ex husband Tim Healy have to the Neighbours cast.

After it's been on screen for the last 37 years, the long-running Australian soap will come to an end in just a few weeks time, after it was confirmed earlier this year that Channel 5 had pulled out of showing it in the UK and its Aussie broadcaster failing to find another channel.

The news was confirmed on Neighbours social media, in a post which read: "We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9,000 episodes broadcast, we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June.

"Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show.

"To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team.

"We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high."

Loose Women dedicated a whole section to Neighbours on Tuesday as Janet Street-Porter headed to Ramsey Street to speak to some of its most famous stars. And it was after watching Janet's interviews that Denise expose a Neighbours 'secret' of her own.

A huge Neighbours fan, Denise admitted that son Matty, lead singer of The 1975, used to dance around to the theme tune as a baby because he'd heard it so much, before explaining how some of the Neighbours cast ended up in her house.

She told the pane: "Tim went over to Australia in 1990 to do a series called Boys from the Bush. I went over to Melbourne and I met some of the Neighbours cast and I was THE most starstruck I have ever been.

"But at that point, they weren't as famous in Australia as they were in the UK. So they were coming over here and doing pantomime for extortionate amounts of money. And a couple of them came and stayed with me: Mark Little (Joe Mangel) and Lucinda Cowden who played Mel. You know when Australians go 'when I'm in the area I'll look you up?' They did!"

Denise added: "My friend went 'is that Joe Mangel in your house?' I didn't get a part!"
