Loose Women's Coleen Nolan breaks down in tears over cancer news

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan broke down in tears during Monday’s edition of the ITV show. The 58-year-old TV personality and singer found herself upset when conversation turned to her sister, Linda, who has revealed that her cancer has spread to her brain.

During the show, Coleen praised her sister for her bravery and positivity before the Loose Women panel discussed the health update: "Her positivity rubs off on you. You hear her talk and she's positive about it so it makes you stronger," she said. She then spoke about how her sister's diagnosis had impacted her emotionally. "It's so weird because even since Monday I haven't cried because I've felt really numb. I've just thought I'm so sick of it because it attacks my family all the time and selfishly you think of your family.”

Coleen added: “I'm scared of crying because I don't think I'll stop." Her eyes then began to fill up and her voice wobbled as she said: "I'm going to cry now so can you move on?"

She took a deep breath as her co-stars supported her and Ruth Langsford handed her a box of tissues which Coleen used to dab at her tear-soaked eyes. “We are going to move on as we’re going to talk about the Prime Minister,’ said Ruth and Coleen, as witty as ever, replied: “Well that’ll make me cry!”

Linda Nolan announced that her cancer had spread during an interview with Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain. She told them: "I just want to tell you that sadly for me, my cancer has now spread to my brain, which I only found out on Monday. Obviously, it's very frightening because there isn't much help for brain cancer at the moment. Apart from radiotherapy, which I'm going to be having. There is a new drug that has been in use for a year for brain cancer. They're going to try me on that with some other treatment. I just wanted people to know that is the situation. I'm not giving up and I'm positive."
