Loose Women's Coleen Nolan breaks down in tears on set over family health blow

Coleen Nolan was left in tears on Monday's Loose Women. as her family deal with the news that her sister Linda's cancer has spread to her brain.

Coleen's older sibling had appeared on another ITV show, Good Morning Britain, hours earlier to reveal the devastating blow she'd been given by doctors, following her cancer diagnosis a few years ago.

Photos of Linda and her sisters leaving hospital appeared online last week, sparking concerns for her condition and, giving a candid interview tro GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, she explained: "“We were recently papped and people have been getting in touch asking, ‘What’s wrong?’ and I just want to tell you from me, unfortunately, sadly for me, my cancer has spread to my brain which I only found out on Monday."

Linda added: “It’s obviously very frightening because there isn’t much help for brain cancer at the moment, apart from radiotherapy which I’m going to be having. But there is a new drug that’s been in use for a year for brain cancer and they’re going to trial me on that as a chemo drug with some other treatment."

Linda's cancer battle was raised towards the start of Loose Women as Coleen joined colleagues Ruth Langsford, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street-Porter and told her fellow panellists she'd felt really 'numb' since being told that the cancer had spread to Linda's brain.

She told hist Ruth: "I haven't cried because I've just felt really numb. I've just thought, I'm so sick of it. It just attacks my family all the time. And I know a lot of people go through, but selfishly you just think..."

Coleen continued: "I'm scared of crying because I don't think I'll stop," before adding: "I'm going to cry now so can you move on?" As Coleen started to cry, both Ruth and Janet reached over to lend their support, with Ruth telling Coleen to "take a moment," as she handed her a box of tissues.

Coleen's other sister Anne was diagnosed with cancer at the same time as Linda in 2020, but is now in remission and their sibling Bernie died in 2013 after a battle with breast cancer.
