Loose Women's Christine Lampard 'cuts off' guest as ITV host forced to go to ad break

Christine Lampard was forced to be the 'bad guy' during Monday's Loose Women, cutting off a very entertaining interview with star guest Wayne Sleep in order to go to an ad break, just as he was talking about his friendship with the late Princess Diana.

Making her first appearance at the head of the panel for a few weeks, former One Show star Christine was joined by colleagues Denise Welch, Brenda Edwards and Linda Robson for the lunchtime discussion programme's first episode of a new week. The live episode covered topics like people being too sentimental over their possessions to couples being judged on their relationships.

There was also a moving moment which saw Denise in tears as she talked about her children, before dance legend Wayne joined the Loose Women panel to talk about his illustrious career and his plans for his upcoming 75th birthday. Wayne, often dubbed the 'real life Billy Elliot' and a big inspiration for the acclaimed North East movie, has worked with plenty of big names during his career in showbiz with one of the most memorable moments being when he danced with Diana to Billy Joel's Uptown Girl at the Royal Opera House in 1985.

Wayne began explaining that he had an autobiography coming out and it was through his research that he came across an old letter the Princess of Wales had sent to him. However, just as he began to elaborate on the letter, which she wrote to them on the night of their headline-hitting performance, Christine cut in and said: "Wayne, I've got to stop you there to go to a break. Can you keep that? 'Don't spoil it, as we'll hear the end of it," as he replied: "Shall I do the break as well?" prompting Christine to gesture to the autocue and quip: "'s all yours!"

After the advert break, Christine was true to her word, as Wayne did get to finish his story, with the former I'm A Celebrity star revealing Princess Diana's delight at them being able to keep their Royal Opera House performance a secret from the press, no nobody had a clue it was coming. He then led the Loose Women panel in a hilarious ballet recital, before showing off some fancy footwork of his own.
