Loose Women's Brenda Edwards opens up about her parents dying when she was four years old

Brenda Edwards opened up about the effect her parents' death had on her when she was just four years old.

The Loose Women panelist, 51, spoke candidly on the ITV programme today as they addressed their beliefs on the afterlife.

She said that she hoped to meet her mum and dad when she dies.

"I do believe in the afterlife," she said. "I've lived hoping that when I die I will be reunited with my mum and dad, who were taken from me at the age of four years old."

Brenda went on to speak about an accident she was involved in when she was around 11 years old which she describes as a spiritual experience.

"My aunt took me to the dentist," she said. "We went to the dentist, I had my appointment and I got knocked over by a car - up on the bonnet, up on the roof, back down on the bonnet, on the floor.

"My aunt was frantic, frantic. I went to the hospital - I had no broken bones, no grazes, no scrapes, nothing.

"If you know the dual carriageway in Luton, it's wide and traffic goes very fast.

"And my aunt always said, 'You're not supposed to be going the same way as your parents. I've always held onto that and it gives my some sort of solace and some sort of happiness.

"Like, 'OK, I'm going to see my mum and dad someday and give them a big hug' and live my life again with them."
