Loose Women's Andrea McLean sat on her son's bed and wept after he left for university

Andrea McLean has admitted that she became very emotional when her son left for university.

The Loose Women presenter, 50, said that when her eldest child Finlay, 18, left home she sat on his bed and cried her eyes out.

Taking to Instagram, Andrea said she managed to make herself feel a bit better by tidying up his room, which made her so angry that she forgot how much she missed him.

She said: "Fin left last week. Sat on his bed and cried... Then started tidying his room and ended up so cross at the filth that it made me feel better."

It's been an emotional time for several members of the Loose Women panel, whose children have recently left home.

Denise Welch recently sobbed on TV over her youngest son Louis, 19, flying the nest.

She said: "Louis is leaving home today, it's so ridiculous. It's like don't be stupid, this is the best thing that can happen."

"Oh my God, this so embarrassing, sorry, this is so cringe," she said as she wiped her eyes.

Denise revealed that Louis and a pal have a flat together in London as she will see him all the time as she is in the city for work several times a week.

"It's the fact that it's the end of the era," she said.
