Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter has announced her fifth marriage after she tied the knot with her partner Peter Spanton last Saturday.

The 79-year-old revealed she had tied the knot with her new husband, who she has known for 27 years, on ITV’s Loose Women on Monday.

The broadcaster was seen with Spanton and her dog, Badger, and she said: “It’s my big news for everybody watching. Peter and me and Badger got married on Saturday. There you are, I finally did it.”

Speaking about her nuptials, Street-Porter said: “I saved the best till last.”

Her Loose Women co-stars were excited, and congratulated her on the news following the announcement.

Scottish broadcaster Kaye Adams joked that Spanton makes “number five”, while TV personality Brenda Edwards said: “It doesn’t matter, she’s got happiness – stop counting the numbers.”

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver and TV personality Nadia Sawalha were also among the panellists who congratulated the star.
