Loose Women panel swoon over 'pin up' Andy Burnham... there's 'something about that anorak' apparently

Of all the things Andy Burnham might have imagined would happen this week, being compared to Brad Pitt on Loose Women probably wasn't one of them.

But the mayor of Greater Manchester ended up being a topic of discussion on the ITV panel show earlier today, after apparently becoming 'a political pin up'.

It comes after his fortnight-long showdown with the government over financial support for the region, as Greater Manchester moves into the highest level of coronavirus restrictions.

Panelist Nadia Sawalha was particularly forthcoming with praise for the mayor, telling the rest of the panel that there was 'something about his anorak.'

She announced that she was 'in love with how much he cares for people,' and wanted to make him pie and mash and gravy.

She said: "He's the sort of man that dries up after somebody else has done the washing up and wipes down the side, because he's just thinking of everyone."

Today's host Jane Moore added: "Don't you think he looks like the missing member of Oasis?"

After a chuckle from the other panelists, Nadia said: "Yes! As well, I mean just every box is ticked.

"He literally makes my heart go funny!"

Judi Love asked Nadia what her husband made of her Burnham crush, to which Nadia said: "He's actually getting quite annoyed."

Jane later revealed that Chancellor Rishi Sunak was recently voted the most attractive male UK politician behind Stephen Barclay in second, Dominic Raab in third and Sir Kier Starmer in fourth.

Boris Johnson was ranked eighth.
