Loose Women panel cry tears of laughter as Brenda Edwards trips down the stairs

The Loose Women panel were left in stitches when Brenda Edwards had a huge mishap on Monday afternoon.

Brenda, 51, nearly fell flat on her face when she walked down the stairs to the desk on the ITV show.

She had been dressed up as a witch which followed on from her appearance during a spooky Halloween-themed competition segment that had aired just moments before.

As she emerged from backstage in her witch hat and cape trying to stay in character, Brenda lost her footing and stumbled down the stairs.

The X Factor 2005 finalist and her co-stars laughed hysterically at the accident.

To make matters worse, Monty Python funnyman John Cleese was on the show on Monday and saw the whole thing.

"I've had a very busy day and I'm so tired," Brenda said as she laughed at herself.

She added as she sat down at the desk: "I'm alright ladies, it's cool.

Brenda was clearly a bit embarrassed (ITV)

"I usually use the broom rather than heels to move about."

Wiping away the tears of laughter from her eyes, Judi Love said: "This is why we love Loose Women!"

"That'll replay for a while, you can feel it," Brenda admitted.

She feared the clip would be replayed over and over again (ITV)

Andrea added: "John Cleese you couldn't make that up!"

The camera panned to Cleese who was also laughing at Brenda on his video call.

*Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV
