Loose Women forced to apologise after Emmerdale's Nicola Wheeler swears live on air

Loose Women was forced to apologise during Monday's episode after Emmerdale star Nicola Wheeler swore live on air.

Nicola appeared on the show today, June 7, via video link alongside Loose Women panellists Charlene White, Linda Robson, Carole McGiffin and Jane Moore to discuss her character's upcoming relationship struggles with husband Jimmy King.

The panel were discussing how Nicola manages having the same name as her on-screen character.

However, Nicola got a little bit too over enthusiastic when speaking of her character's somewhat manipulative personality traits and seemingly forget she was live on air when a swear word slipped into her chat.

Nicola said: "I'm terrible with names, I get really confused when people start talking, they'll go like oh hi Nicola and I'm like is it or is it her?

"If they call me a b**** it's me," she joked.

"Oh no Nicola you can't say that, what is wrong with everyone today?!" Charlene exclaimed.

The soap star tried to retract the slur: "It's a female dog, it's a female dog!"

Charlene White was forced to apologise to viewers for Nicola's bad language.

Charlene said: "I'm going to apologise on behalf of Nicola for Nicola's language" as Nicola was seen covering her mouth.

And Nicola wasn't the only one who made a sweary slip in today's episode of the ITV lunchtime chat show.

Presenter Charlene who was anchoring the show was left at her wit's end as co-hosts Linda Robson and Carol McGiffin also swore live on air.

Later in the show, while discussing what TV shows they enjoy watching, Carol began talking about "c**p TV."

"Is that word allowed?" she asked afterwards.

A defeated Charlene replied: "Who knows at this point, I’m going to apologise anyway!"

Loose Women airs on ITV from 12:30PM on weekdays.
