Loose Women fans stunned as Denise Welch is completely unrecognisable in throwback photo

Loose Women panellist Denise Welch took to the hot seat on the show on Tuesday, as she bared all on her life before the ITV show.

From her childood, to her family life and Coronation Street fame, she went into detail about what went on behind-the-scenes.

But fans were left stunned when she showed a photo from her younger days, shortly after she left drama school.

She revealed a major throwback photo from when she was 21 years old, and she looks completely different to the point she's barely recognisable.

It what looks to be a head shot, Denise looks very different and has her fluffy blonde hair in an almost perm, in a much longer do.

The actress also has slightly heavy eye makeup on for the stunning black and white photograph.

Denise also opened up on the show about one of her "biggest regrets" in life, seven years on from the death of her mother.

Her mother Ann passed away in 2012 after a long battle with cancer.

Speaking to her co-stars she opened up on her mother's passing, which happened around the time the actress gave up drinking following a long battle with addiction.

Denise revealed that while her mum got to see her on the path of recovery, she never got to see her daughter remain sober and lead the very different life she is leading now.

She explained: "I miss her very much and I think one of my big regrets in life, if I have one, is that she knew I'd stopped drinking three weeks before she died, but I'd love for her to see the life I have now because I was in a dark place then."

Speaking of their bond, she went on: "My mum was my rock and she died seven years ago. She was a great loss, she used to come down to the show."

Revealing how her mother would always be in her dressing room waiting for her after Loose Women, Denise admitted she'd always run upstairs after each show to see her thoughts on what she'd discussed on-air that day - with her often telling her: "I'm going to kill you."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
