Loose Women fans sob over Helen McCrory's final wish for husband Damian Lewis

Viewers of Loose Women were left sobbing today as the hosts discussed Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory ’s final wish for her husband Damian Lewis.

The 52-year-old actress tragically passed away last week after a short battle with cancer.

Helen was a much loved actress who had a hugely successful career from starring in roles in James Bond, Harry Potter and her most recent role as Aunt Polly in BBC's Loose Women.

Behind the scenes of glamorous film sets, Helen enjoyed a quiet family life behind closed doors, according to The Mirror.

Helen and her husband of 14-years Damian Lewis have two children together, Manon, 14, and 13-year-old Gulliver.

In a heartbreaking statement on Friday, Damien announced that his beloved wife had passed away.

In the emotional Twitter post, the 50-year-old actor confirmed that Helen had lost her battle with cancer.

"I'm heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family."

He added: "She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God, we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you."

And on Monday’s episode of Loose Women, panelists Charlene White, Nadia Sawalha, Denise Welch and Jane Moore discussed Helen’s wish for her husband to find love again after her tragic death.

Over the weekend, Damian paid several beautiful tributes to his late wife following her sudden death.

In one statement, the grieving actor opened up about Helen’s wish for him to find love again with another women.

“Only a couple of weeks ago, she said to me and the kids from her bed that ‘I want Daddy to have girlfriends – lots of them. You must all love again. Love isn’t possessive. But you know Damian, please try at least get through the funeral without snogging someone,'" he revealed.

Following the episode, Loose Women viewers flocked to Twitter to share their love for Helen and Damian.

"I am bawling watching Loose Women over Helen's wish for her husband to find love again. What an amazingly strong woman to be able to give her blessing like that while being so ill," gushed one viewer.

"Helen McCrory sounds like an absolute gem. Sending all the love to her husband and kids right now," another echoed.

Damian first met Helen when the pair performed together in Five Gold Rings at London's Almeida Theatre.

After she grew close to Damian, Helen told Radio Times what first attracted her to the actor.

"He just made me laugh a lot. And still does,” she revealed during a 2015 interview.

“Everyone in life wants someone to love and be loved by, but I think I was always just engrossed and involved in work. And no, the timing was pure fluke, pure chance, it always is.”

Helen and Damian tied the knot in July 2007 in a stunning registry office ceremony, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
