Loose Women's Coleen Nolan revealed her family has rallied together after her auntie's health took a turn for the worse.

The 56-year-old opened up about caring for her relative on the latest edition of the popular ITV programme.

The subject came up after host Ruth Langsford shared her experiences of looking after husband Eamonn Holmes after he was struck down with chronic pain - as Chronicle Live reports.

Coleen said: "My sister now lives with my auntie who is the last living relative of that era, she's my mum's sister. We call her the Don of the family; she's taken a turn for the worse and now Anne is her carer.

"You just do when it's someone you love. You just do, you want to help them."

It has been a tough few years for the Nolan family after her sister Bernie died from cancer at the age of 52 in 2013.

Coleen's older sisters Anne and Linda also revealed in 2020 they were battling cancer at the same time

Anne's breast cancer is now in remission, but Linda is suffering from terminal cancer in her liver.

The 62-year-old musician had fans in tears over the weekend when she posted a picture of her with Coleen and Maureen on New Year's Eve.

She said: "Not only have I lived to see another year in, I saw it in with my sisters by my side and I couldn’t be more thankful"

Ruth issued a message of support to all carers to end the segment.

She said: "Listen, to anybody out there, there are thousands upon thousands of carers who do this every single day.

"We absolutely respect you. My mum did it for my dad with Alzheimer's for years. I know many of you are watching will be carers.

"We respect you hugely and we hope you're OK."
