Loose Women celebrates Valentine's Day with a trio of live proposals - but viewers were far from enamoured

Loose Women had a Valentine’s Day to forget as viewers blasted the live proposals as the most “cringe” segment they had ever seen.

The lunchtime show decided to help three loved-up ladies ask their partners to marry them with the help of the ITV studio and a live broadcast.

After playing three sweet tributes to the participants' other halves, Christine Lampard went off into the audience to oversee the first woman’s important question.

But when it was time for proposals two and three, things went a little wrong as both women got down on one knee at the same time – leaving the cameraman faffing about so much that they missed both special moments.

And viewers were far from enamoured with the intimate moments, some in considerable pain from grinding their teeth together and curling their toes in embarrassment.

One wrote: “Anyone else's toes curling with the cringe? #loosewomen.”

Another said: “My bum cheeks have never been tighter #cringe #LooseWomen.”

“Note to the show producers. When you got 2 simultaneous proposals going on, you might need more than one camera to cover it properly,” one particularly critical viewer weighed in.

But, all is well that ends well. All three couples later told Lampard how thrilled they were to now be engaged.

Away from live TV, celebrities were celebrating Valentine’s Day with an array of loved up snaps including Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham.

The Love Island winners paid a touching tribute to each other with sweet pictures .

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
