Loose Women all-black panel praised for 'refreshing' representation

Loose Women was praised for having a panel that was comprised of only black women on Thursday.

Charlene White served as the head presenter, with Kelle Bryan, Judi Love and Brenda Edwards joining her on today's panel.

The move was branded "refreshing" by viewers, who were pleased to see "representation" on the show.

One fan tweeted: "I normally dont even watch TV but I needed an escape today, I put on the TV and there's #LooseWomen 4 black women discussing things that make sense. This gladdens my heart."

"Four black females on @loosewomen. 2020 has been good for something! Bravo," another posted.

A third said: "#LooseWomen has ALL black women on the panel today, let's make this a regular thing."

"I see #LooseWomen is all Black girl Magic today," another wrote.

Another agreed: "We shouldn't notice it, as it's just 4 women but it's nice & refreshing to see. Hopefully it all becomes the norm.

"Also need more Asians and others but 1 step is better than none."

The panel discussed several controversial topics, including whether you should smack children as a form of discipline.

In the UK it is illegal for a parent or carer to smack a child unless it amounts to reasonable punishment.

Kelle said: "I was very firm in the fact that I didn't want my children to be smacked because of what I went through as a child."

She said her parents would hit her with a slipper when she misbehaved, and her dad has told her that her children misbehave because they're not "disciplined properly".

The Hollyoaks star explained: "There's more than one way to discipline a child."
