Loose Woman star Kaye Adams says she's 'still processing' Strictly Come Dancing stint

TV presenter Kaye Adams has admitted she's 'still processing life' since her stint on Strictly Come Dancing and the attention that comes with being on 'reality TV'.

The Loose Women star, 59, was the first celebrity contestant to be voted off this year's Strictly.

Since Kaye's exit she revealed she can relate to fellow former Strictly star Susannah Constantine, who reflected on her own reality TV experience.

In a chat, the 60-year-old fashion guru admitted she had experienced PTSD after appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

Sharing her support for Susannah, Kaye posted the article on her own Instagram story and wrote: "Can really relate with @Susannah Constantine. Definitely taking me time to truly process."

It comes after Susannah told Sheer Luxe: " I remember expecting to be a world-class dancer on two or three hours of training a day. I remember on the second day of training I came home and I said to my husband, ‘You know what? I've found something I'm really good at and I think we could win this.’ I mean, how deluded was I?

"I still have PTSD from it – the traumas of I'm A Celebrity pale in comparison to Strictly! You can be absolutely murdered for your lack of talent on that show."

Like Susannah, broadcaster Kaye, 59, admitted her journey 'was shorter' than she'd hoped as she 'kicked herself' over missed steps but, she gave the show her absolute all.

"Well it was a much shorter journey than I'd hoped for but a journey all the same!," she said in an her emotional statement.

Since her Strictly exit Kaye welcomed Susannah on to her podcast How To Be 60 and discussed their shared Strictly experience as they were both the first celebs to be voted off of their Strictly series.

Speaking on her podcast alongside Karen McKenzie, Kaye explained: "She is also like me a member of that exclusive club — the first person to be booted out of Strictly Come Dancing."

Sympathising with Kaye's exit, co-host Karen added: "There was no way you should have gone out. I was gutted for you. You did not deserve it!"

Karen commended Kaye on her performance saying she had 'nothing to feel embarrassed about' and joked her saving grace was that she didn't fall for her 27-year-old dance partner Kai Widdington.

But, rather than play to the so called Strictly curse she found Kai gave her a newfound confidence, as Kaye gushed: "This man should be a motivational coach. I’ve learned so much from Kai, even beyond dancing."

And in an emotional post on Instagram Kaye admitted the show had been blown away by the support she received from the public when she appeared on Strictly.

Sharing about the experience she said it 'transformed her life' as she has since been approached by the public who had commended her on her 'brave' step to appear in the show.

She told the Liverpool Echo: "The fact that people seem to appreciate that, you know, I genuinely did give it a good go and I really did try my best. People have been so generous about it and it has been such a lovely, pleasant surprise, to be honest. I'm so grateful. It's made going out so much more bearable than it might otherwise have been."
