'Looks like a fortune teller's tent': Van driver caught on the M6 with the windscreen covered by ornate curtain and some very odd items

A van driver was caught on the M6 with his windscreen obscured by a large dangling curtain and an array of strange items.

An embroidered scarf with the word 'Polska' was pinned to the right of the screen, while cotton dice and a fluffy bird toy were attached to the curtain trim.

As if that wasn't enough, the driver attached a phone and a Sat Nav to the middle of the screen.

And on the dashboard, pink glowing lamps were illuminated against the window.

The driver, who was stopped near Sandbach in Cheshire, was fined and prosecuted, police said.

In a post, put up at 5.30pm on Monday, Cheshire HGV Cops said: "HGV stopped at Sandbach this evening.

"Windscreen was heavily cluttered with accessories preventing the driver from having a clear view of not only the front mirror but the road ahead.

"Driver fined and prosecuted."

The tweet prompted some funny comments - with one user comparing the set-up to a fortune teller's tent.

Another twitter user asked whether police confiscated the driver's crystal ball.
