'Looking for Van Dijk, will find Mustafi' - Arsenal fans mock Manchester United over Harry Maguire fee

Arsenal fans have been reacting to the fee that Manchester United are set to pay for England Centre-Back Harry Maguire, with many believing that the Red Devils are overpaying for the defender.

It was revealed on Friday afternoon that Maguire is set for a move to Old Trafford after a World Record fee of £80-85m was agreed between Manchester United and his current club Leicester City.

The fee will eclipse the £75m that Liverpool payed Southampton for Virgil Van Dijk, making Maguire the world's most expensive defender.

Maguire established himself as a cult hero during the World Cup campaign of 2018, scoring England's opening goal in the 2-0 quarter final victory over Sweden.

Affectionately known to teammates as 'slabhead', the defender has played 76 times for Leicester over a two year spell, after joining from Hull City for a fee of £17m. Meaning the Foxes have made a significant profit on the player.

Leicester were determined to keep a hold of their man and demanded a world record fee for the England hero since the start of the summer, and one of the deals that has stole the headlines is now coming to a conclusion.

Manchester United see the signing as vital in strengthening their defense in an aim of pushing for the Champions League spaces amongst the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham this season.

But Arsenal fans have been quick to take to twitter to mock the fee, with some comparing the defender to a player currently at the Emirates Stadium.

Maguire is expected to undergo a medical at Old Trafford and be confirmed as a Manchester United player over the coming days.
