The Florida-Georgia game is this week at it’s usual 3:30 p.m. ET time slot on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida. The game will be televised on CBS. The Georgia Bulldogs come into the game on a two-game win streak against the Gators.

The Bulldogs have dominated the Gators of late and hold a series edge, 54-44-2. The Bulldogs are on their own 23-game SEC winning streak and can threaten the all-time streak if they win out. The Gators are the first test of several good foes in the SEC to close the season for the Bulldogs.

This game was the 100th showdown between these two teams. Last season’s matchup between these teams went in Georgia’s favor, 42-20. Stetson Bennett threw for 316 yards in his last game against the Gators, including a 73-yard touchdown pass to Brock Bowers. Daijun Edwards and Kenny McIntosh combined for 196 yards as well. The Gators weren’t able to get anything going outside of one long touchdown pass by Anthony Richardson.

It was true freshman Anthony Richardson’s first start for the Gators and he was welcomed to the SEC with three critical turnovers that put the Gators in a 24-0 hole before the half. The Bulldogs struggled to get anything going through one quarter but woke up with after a James Cook touchdown. Richardson threw an interception two plays later that led to a Kearis Jackson touchdown. Seven plays later, Nakobe Dean came up with a huge pick six before the end of the half. Zamir White put the exclamation on this game with a 42-yard touchdown run.

2020: Florida 44, Georgia 28

The only loss of the last five years for the Bulldogs came in 2020 as Georgia was trying to figure out its QB situation. The game started well with Zamir White scoring on the first play with a 75-yard run. Stetson Bennett threw a touchdown to Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint to put Georgia up 14-0. This was as good as it got. The Gators stormed back and Bennett was eventually benched for freshman D’Wan Mathis. The Gators went on to lose to Alabama in the SEC championship game in 2020.

2019: Georgia 24, Florida 17

This game was the closest between the two teams in the past five years as Georgia topped the Gators by a touchdown. Jake Fromm was the quarterback of the Bulldogs; he threw two touchdowns. He controlled the offense as the Bulldogs held the ball for 36 minutes and they converted 12 of 18 third downs. A 52-yard touchdown catch by Lawrence Cager put the Bulldogs up 24-10 in the fourth quarter and a late touchdown made this game seem a lot closer than what it actually was.

2018: Georgia 36, Florida 17

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

This game was very competitive throughout the first half as Georgia couldn’t convert touchdowns in the red zone. The Bulldogs found themselves down 14-13 early in the third quarter after a Felipe Franks touchdown pass. The Bulldogs then went on a 23-3 run as Jeremiah Holloman caught two touchdowns from Jake Fromm. The Bulldogs captured their first double-digit lead after Terry Godwin hauled in a touchdown. The Bulldogs finished the rout with a D’Andre Swift 33-yard touchdown run.
