'Look what Emery did' - Man United fans fume at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision against Arsenal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a big call ahead of Manchester United's clash with Arsenal on Monday night.

United drew 1-1 with the Gunners at Old Trafford, with Scott McTominay's goal just before half time cancelled out by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's second half finish.

The game failed to live up to expectations, with large periods of the game dominated by sloppy passing and mistakes from both sides.

United and Arsenal struggled to create many clear cut chances on a night which showed how much work both clubs have to do to qualify for the Champions League.

Before the game, Solskjaer opted to start with Marcus Rashford in attack, flanked by Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira and Daniel James.

Solskjaer had declared on Friday that he “wouldn’t put my life” on Rashford being fit for Monday night’s meeting with Unai Emery’s men, having been forced off at West Ham nine days ago.

Mason Greenwood was expected to deputise if Rashford did not play, but the teenager was named on the bench.

Greenwood has impressed in recent weeks, with goals against Astana and Rochdale, and fans were excited to see the 18-year-old unleashed against Arsenal.

But Solskjaer went for the senior man in Rashford, despite his recent injury, and some supporters believe the United boss should have taken the risk on Greenwood, even if he was played on the wing - pointing to Unai Emery's decision to start Bukayo Saka.

The young Arsenal winger was impressive at Old Trafford, and provided the assist for Aubameyang's equaliser in the second half.

And the reaction on social media was indicative of the mood among United fans:
