Look: Todd Gurley takes blatant shot at NCAA with T-shirt

Todd Gurley has never been shy about sharing his opinion, whether it’s calling the Rams offense a “middle school offense” under Jeff Fisher or saying how terrible Thursday night football games are. He made a strong statement on Thursday with the T-shirt he wore to his press conference.

He took a blatant shot at the NCAA with a shirt that read “Not Concerned About Athletes.”

He also posted a photo of it on Instagram.

Gurley was asked about his shirt during the press conference, to which he said this, supporting athletes’ ability to make money off their names.

“I just let my shirt speak for itself. Just being a college athlete and, you know, obviously going through suspension and all that stuff,” he said. “So, I got to see both sides of it. Obviously, everyone has their own opinion, but I’m always for the athletes to be able to make some money off of their name for sure and their likeness because they deserve it.”

Gurley has a history with the NCAA, getting suspended four games in his final season at Georgia for accepting money in exchange for autographs. He tore his ACL in his first game back from suspension, ending his season.

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed the Fair Pay to Play Act, which is a step toward allowing NCAA athletes to make money from endorsements and their likeness without being penalized or punished.
