Look: SoFi Stadium’s Oculus screen has been raised off the ground

Three summer concerts at SoFi Stadium have been postponed due to the coronavirus, but the pandemic hasn’t stopped construction from continuing on the $5 billion project. It’s still expected to be done in a few months, in time for the 2020 preseason.

The Oculus videoboard is the focal point of the stadium, spanning 120 yards with content shown on both sides. It’s not yet done, but Friday was an important day in the building’s progression.

The Oculus was raised off the ground, though only halfway. But simply seeing it suspended in the air at all is incredible and really gives you a sense of how it’ll look when the stadium is complete.

Below are a few more looks at the Oculus after being raised off the ground. It’s going to be spectacular when it’s 100% finished.

No matter where you’re sitting inside SoFi Stadium, you’ll have a good view of the Oculus – whether it’s the outer screens or the ones on the inside of the ring.

Here’s a view from ground level with the Oculus halfway to its peak.

Whenever fans do get to attend an event at SoFi Stadium, it’s going to be an electric atmosphere and a venue everyone wants to visit. As of now, the stadium’s first event is a preseason game between the Rams and Saints sometime between August 13-17.
