Look sharp in this season's designer-inspired power suits

Power suits are still reigning supreme for spring summer - only this season, they are couldn’t be further from the boardroom.

Coco Chanel pioneered women’s trousers in the early 20th century as practical and entirely chic and some 100 years later, designers are still reinventing the iconic two-piece.

For SS19, tailoring has been given a colourful makeover, with the classic combo more cocktail and less corporate.

At the recently revived Escada, suits came in warm shades of joyful mimosa, while gorgeous creations in citrus shades were marched down the catwalks of Balenciaga, Roksanda, Peter Pilotto and Boss.

Banish bridesmaid dress blues with these chic choices all under €100

The high street has followed suit, pardon the pun, with an array of blazer and trouser separates suitable to wear to weddings, parties and other special occasions.

Stand out from the crowd with a bold colour or break the pieces apart to make even more outfits.

Inject some sunshine into your wardrobe with Zara’s super selection of suits for spring summer ‘19.

One of our favourites is the designer inspired double-breasted, flare suit in look-at-me yellow.

Meanwhile, Topshop’s pretty apple green suit (€153) is a refreshing take on the trend.

Let the look speak for itself and keep accessories to a minimum with a pair of pointed-toe heels.
