Look: Rams’ new stadium hits milestone, last piece of outer roof installed

The Los Angeles Rams have just one season left at the Coliseum before they move into their new digs in Inglewood. The massive stadium is still under construction and is expected to be completed in 2020, just in time for the NFL season.

Both the Rams and Chargers will call Inglewood home beginning next year and the stadium is really taking shape with just over a year until it’s finished. The venue will house more than just the Rams and Chargers, too, as NFL Media will move in, as well.

On Friday, the stadium hit another milestone as the last piece of the outer roof truss was installed. Here’s a look at it going in place, from the stadium cam.

And here’s what it looks like now with the final piece in place.

Just last month, very little of the swooping canopy was finished, so workers have made great progress over the past 30 days or so.

There’s still plenty of work left to be done, but it’s easy to see the shape of the stadium coming together. It’s going to be one of the most spectacular venues in the world once it’s finished, playing host to everything from Super Bowls to college football national championships.
